Hello my name is Desiree Boston I am 21 years old and I just finished my junior year in college. I am majoring in Journalism and I love it! I have loved writing for as long as I could remember s
o I feel this was the perfect major for me. Well enough about college and myself, let’s get into EBDL!
I’d say my relationship with my body is pretty good some days are honestly not so great. Like everyone I have those days where I don’t feel as confident, and others where I feel like I can take on the world. Over the years my relationship with my body has improved by a lot I will say. These days I’m feeling more confident becoming more bold and being myself. When I started college I found a group of friends who encouraged me to be myself and helped me come out of my shell and I am so thankful for them.
I am speaking my truth with EBDL because I think it is a great organization and I have always wanted to be a part of something like this! I also think an organization like this is important because it teaches self love which is so important for everyone to learn! What I do to show my body love is to take care of it the best way I can. I watch what I put in my body and I try my best to keep my body strong and healthy. I also accept my body the way it is. At one point in my life I hated my body but I have now learned to love my body and I’ve also learned that every body is different and special.
Self lovery for me is making sure you are happy and comfortable with life. It is doing what makes you happy and not caring what others think, it’s doing you boo!! I do what I love and I don’t let anything stop me from doing it. I also think self lovery is finding peace with yourself and accepting yourself which is also how I celebrate self lovery. I like to do yoga to show myself love. I started doing yoga in 2016 with one of my really good friends who invited me to a class. After my first class I fell in love! Yoga has helped me through a lot, being in college gets very stressful and doing yoga not only relieves stress for me but it also reduces my anxiety and believe it or not helps with my OCD. I have struggled with OCD since the second grade and yoga helps with that which is why I say I do yoga to show myself love. When I start my day with yoga it makes me feel relaxed and calm and helps me get through the day.
This is my self love story and I hope you enjoyed learning about me and my story!
