Earth Day is an annual celebration on April 22 that is recognized worldwide to support the
environment and remind everyone to be more mindful of how our daily choices can make a
difference. Earth Day originally started in 1970 as a national movement to raise awareness
about environmental issues and pollution, but it grew into something much bigger. It has
become a global event that brings people together to help protect our planet.

The more people we encourage to make small changes in their daily lives, the greater the impact we can have on the Earth. Simple actions like recycling, donating clothes, and using reusable water bottles or
bags are just a few ways to get involved. Even small habits, like turning off lights or conserving
water, can make a difference.

  • There are plenty of events that go on in your community to get
involved in Earth Day activities. In the Orange County area, there will be a family friendly event
celebrating the 5th annual Earth Day this Saturday, April 25th, in Lake Forest at the Sun and
Sail Clubhouse, which will feature interactive activities, educational exhibits, and hands-on
    experiences focused on sustainability.
  • There will also be a Bolsa Chica Earth Day Festival in
Huntington Beach this Sunday, April 26th, which will include fun activities, guided reserve tours,
    and a community beach cleanup.

These are just some ideas on activities you can participate in
to get more informed about our environment and to be encouraged to take action to protect our
earth.-
